<p>For the Yale transfer application, they ask in the supplement "what in particular about Yale influenced you to apply," but the maximum space allowed is only 500 characters, a very small paragraph. Therefore, I'm guessing they're not expecting a formal short essay, but just a brief list of traits I like about Yale? anyone have any experience or is going through the process right now? any advice would be greatly appreciated!</p>

<p>500 characters is literally only a sentence or two over the length of my original most…really not enough for anything beyond stating the basic components.</p>
<p>Either from their website or a visit, talk about something unique to you and Y that makes you a match, it doesn’t have to be a big thing like a major or the RCs. For my D1 it was the printing presses in the basements of some of the RCs and her interest in printmaking.</p>
<p>Hint: don’t mention acapella groups ;).</p>
