Yale University Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

How did the financial portal update for you? Ours updated about one week after we submitted CSS/IDOC. But all it did was change the original date from when CSS/IDOC was pulled to a new date. Now showing that new date next to each document. Nothing else. Everything is still checkmarked. Not other documents were requested.

update what?

I have some new second page signed thing, and then IDOC second record; it means nothing, I was just saying that FA is getting through them

rather blatant misinformation - am student and i have a 9xx SID

I apologize, I didn’t mean to misinform. I pulled that information directly from Yale Daily News: “Whereas the 9-digit SID number beginning with “9” is assigned to all prospective students during the admissions process, the 8-digit UPI begins with “1” and is only assigned to all matriculated students, faculty, and staff, Long said.”

Anyway, the SID still doesn’t mean anything. All prospective students receive one and I’m guessing if you’re accepted, then you keep the one you were assigned.

“I’m guessing if you’re accepted, then you keep the one you were assigned.”

Brochacho I literally called yale for y’all and they told us this weeks ago.

Did you financial aid portal update? I’m just curious to know if anyone’s did

This isn’t true. Not all receive one, only those who applied for financial aid. Student application ID doesn’t equal SID.

I’ve heard from past admitted students that they received an SID a few days after or before their acceptance even if they didn’t apply for finaid.

As a side note, I think we should stop talking about SIDs since they really don’t mean anything.

how will they receive SID if they don’t apply for financial aid? got an email from Yale?

You won’t. It’s only for financial aid people/those who requested it. Or, if you submit everything on time, you wouldn’t receive it

I received an interview request earlier today. What does this mean? How should I prepare?

It should be a good sign regardless how you look at it. How strong your application is?

I would say my application is decently strong, but not anything truly exceptional compared to most of the people applying to Yale (especially looking at everyone else’s profiles on CC!)

I was also wondering if it means anything different since I am in a city, as some people were saying that they offer interviews to everyone where there are more alumni (not sure if this is accurate and up to date)

where can you see everyone else’s profiles here? didn’t find a lot.

I just mean what people have shared about their stats. Not just on this thread but on past years’ and other forums – everyone is very impressive haha

Not correct. They only interview candidates from whom they need more information/color.

If you search this site, I actually wrote a piece on interviews, what we are supposed to look for and how I do my interviews. In short, don’t over prepare to the extent you are robotic. Treat it as a conversation. Be prepared to talk about what gets you excited academically and ec-wise. Why Yale and Yale’s part in your future. Have questions ready for the interviewer directed at their experience during and after school.

Have fun.

Oh wait, only? I would think prioritize ≠ exclusively interview applicants they need more information from, especially since interviewees often get rejected.
