Yale V/s Stanford

Hey guys,

I have managed to get through two Universities-Yale and Stanford for their respective undergraduate programs. I am damn confused between the two--

I wish to pursue Economics at the Undergraduate Level and then join a B-School for a MBA degree. Which place is better suited for me?

I have been told that Stanford does not have an undergraduate college whereas Yale has one-Yale College. Will this make any difference. I am also told that Law at Yale rocks. But I know nothing about Economics at Yale or Stanford. Please help me out. Locations are NOT an issue for m. I am not concerned about financial aid either. I want to go to a place where I will get a better overall undergraduate experience- academics, extra-curricular, et al.
Where should I be- Yale or Stanford ? (Ultimately I WANT to do an MBA)Replies will be appreciated- It will frame my career guys!

Stanford B-School is easily equal to Harvards, in terms of GMAT, starting salary, selectivity, etc.

I'm not sure what you mean by undergraduate college; Stanford is a liberal arts college, which means that any student can take any class. If you look at the rankings, which mean nothing by the way, Stanford Law School is right up there with Yale and Harvard.

If your priority is business school...

Many students at Stanford take classes at the business school, with business school students. It is one of the best in the country - certainly the best on the west coast, which is extremely important for entrepreneurial jobs - up there at the top with Harvard and Wharton (UPenn). US News ranks it 2nd after Harvard (note that Stanford GSB is significantly smaller and more intimate than Harvard) and the Financial Times ranks it 3rd with Harvard.

Yale? Didn't even know they had a business school until I googled it. Turns out they have a "School of Management" that never breaks out of the 10s - 14 by US News, 10 by Financial Times.

Also, Stanford usually ranks much higher than Yale by any measure of the economics department....

Couldn't resist: Milton Friedman died but his spirit lives on?
