Yale vs Harvard, world war 3?

I think all geniuses with 12 pairs of glasses go to Harvard and Yale is for dumb kids who guessed on every question on the SAT and Princeton is for reclusive sociopaths with insane Call of Duty skillz and MIT is for aliens and cockroaches. Clearly WW3 will come down to Berkeley vs. Missouri Southern State University.

Being the silly person I am, I posted a “help me” forum on every Ivy League forum. They all got locked. I had no replies except for the Yale forum. And the replies are not so good. I got insulted and criticized. And I had to remove most of the replies. Not only did I learn that what I did was wrong, I realized how baggy and insecure most people are when it comes to Yale. I say this not only because of the incident above but also some interactions I have had. Very harsh people, I often keep Yale’s liberal society in question. I guess it is because Yale is a majestic school but also second only to Harvard and Princeton. That drives them bonkers! And so I think people who apply to Yale are, most certainly, rejects of Harvard, dot qualify for Harvard or have never heard of Harvard!

Poor chaps, I feel sorry for them. They don’t see how they are better than oxford let alone Harvard ;)

Actually, my sense is that Harvardians have a special soft spot for Yalies because they share with them a unique distinction. They both got into Yale.

^^^^^lol…

Er, um, check US News and World Report this year:

Yale #1 in Selectivity; Harvard #3

Yale SAT 25/75 percentiles > Harvard

That is because Yale is trying to full us. So next year the number of freshmen is only 100! Too bad for them, they try so hard but fall so bad. I mean make a link to this forum on a Yale forum and let them say for them self’s. You will see how they reply, they don’t want to admit that Harvard is better, if they do they will turn in to dust or something, but the question still remains why?
— fyi the Harvard Selectivity is low because it is getting more liberal. so even after losing a battle Harvard wins the war!

Ok maybe I am wrong but I think that those compares between universities and colleges are silly. Each one of them offers an education to their students. Because some students are harsh with students of other insitution doesnt mean that the insitution itself has this policy for other insitutions. Have u ever think the reasons which are capable to make a student thinks like that?Suppose that some of those students during their senior year in high school applied to both schools and one of them rejected them. So, this behavior could be the reaction of this rejection. But its only a hypothesis.

Also.I think that is silly to see the differences between insitutions rather than than the similarities which I believe are more.

Also, I m against of the attitude that some people have according to NASA26 answer.

But the topic is other.

@creacher you overacting. I find you very judgemental. In my opinion you cant criticize an insitution which is offers an eduacation to many other students. A lot of famous scientists, writers, engineers had been in those insitutions. I dont find this thread so objective actually.

Each one of those has its history including many successes and a lot of work from its student so only for that we should show some ‘‘respect’’.

Helen,

I’m pretty sure this whole thread is all meant in fun and is not to be taken seriously.

^^^ yes that is true.
This was what I feared the moment I created the forum. I knew it would be a strong opinionated discussion. Again I am not applying to any of the schools. So I don’t have a strict opinion on ether one of them. Being humans we tend to joke, it is a healthy response! That is why some of the posts don’t sound good if one takes it seriously. We are discussing on how the student body of each grate institute think of each other. And as the posts above show, the relations are not as good as one might expect. And we want to get to the bottom of it; the question must still be answered. Why?
Mind you this forum is for opinion not fact. So we must ask people to have different views, and respect it.
So tell me why.

I am apologize. Sometimes when u see something written is much different rather than you hear it. I am apologize again.

To answer your question creacher I think that each students thinks and reacts in different way with other students of other insitutions. But in case of some competitions between those insitutions for example a football game the things are much different. But we dont see this behavior of students only in university. If we consider the high school the things are not different. It exists some kind of competition but this depends on person and not on the policy of each insitution or high school.

I think that my answer is more serious that its should be…but nevermind:D

whats so grate about oxford any way isn’t Cambridge better. ox< Cambridge < harv < mit???

As a UK student with experience of potentially studying at Oxford or Cambridge, I find it laughable how people can in anyway conceive Oxbridge to be better than the Ivy league - bring on the misinformed nonsense of “personal tutorials” (far from what people think this is) and Harry Potter…

what??? look at the simple math
ox< Cambridge < harv < mit
not
ox>Cambridge >harv > mit?

It wasn’t aimed at you Creacher, there was another post on the previous page I was referring to :)

oh, dearly sorry,

I haven’t laughed so hard in a while…

there are so many ‘do-nots’ on this thread.

like what?
dont go to yale or something

I don’t get what you are saying
I feel bad for Yale but Harvard would have of been butchered if this page was on a Yale forum. We all know that! And creacher what? Oxford and Cambridge university are 10 X better than all of the schools in the us including mit (students not academics) they are more majestic and thy have their own meads that cleans there room, they are pampered so they seem to be happier

“thy have their own meads that cleans there room”
I thought Harvard had butlers
