<p>International relations: even match, though make sure you check out specific faculty and programs since it could go either way
History: Yale has a slight advantage unless you have a fit with a Stanford prof.
Linguistics: Lingforum is correct. Stanford has a significant advantage (Yale once had an exceptional linguistic department, but those days are long gone). The only exception is if you have a very close fit with a specific Yale prof.</p>
<p>However, I don't think an undergrad would be wise to choose either school based on comparing departments in these three fields. If you are going to choose between these two schools, you need a better reason. . .</p>
