Any action from the WL? I’m freaking out lmao
From a recent Yale Daily News article about Bulldog Days for the Class of 2021:
“The yield rate for the class of 2019 — the most recent class for which data is available — was 69.5 percent.”
0.695*2272(accepted students to the Class of 2021)=1579, which is 29 students over the 1550-student class they’re shooting for this year.
Well, super depressing to look at the numbers, and just more motivating for me to forget about going to Yale for undergrad do keep us posted if you hear any news in the coming weeks, everyone!
Wait, so the waitlist won’t be used? This sucks
It’s a possibility if yield rates remain the same. Although, hopefully for all of our sakes, it will be a low yielding year for Yale.
Hi everyone. I got to speak with an admissions officer today and she told me they will be notifying us within a week and a half with information about the waitlist. Additionally, she said there will be “little activity” on the waitlist, so I’m assuming they will be taking very few people off the waitlist!
Oh well. State schools are cheaper anyway
I got the same information as ambikav33. My admissions officer said he would try and get back to me in a couple days with further information, but that it was not looking good for the waitlist. And they’re still making decisions about it so looks like this is going to be a year where they pull like 14 kids as opposed to like 200, With hundreds of kids on the waitlist, it’s really not great odds for anyone.
Just checked the new status update (May 10), rejected

Rejected. Are they accepting anyone off of the wait list this year? The message made it seem as though they don’t plan on using it.
@TheCrimsonBulldog I don’t think anyone was accepted, but maybe I’m wrong
At least we know that we were qualified for Yale. I’ll definitely be applying again for my graduate studies. This isn’t over yet
Rejected. I don’t think they took anyone off the waitlist this year! Their message seemed like they didn’t even reconsider our applications. Good luck with everything guys
Rejected from the waitlist mates. Which schools do you guys plan to go to now?
I’ll be at Columbia! I’m pretty excited about living in Manhattan.
Son rejected off waitlist. @Afrikal - he’s headed to Brown and is super excited. He loved the vibe and friendly community at Brown. Where are you headed?
@oregonmom I’m really glad. Brown also seems like a phenomenal alternative to Yale! Congrats to your son. I’ll be going to Columbia this fall. I hope I enjoy it.
