I got in off the wait list, I emailed the program back to ensure them of the fact that I was still interested in attending plus I also let them know of some recent awards and accomplishments that I had achieved such as a summer internship that I will be taking.

I got in for PLE, not waitlisted. Tips for future applicants… Try to make sure you’re well rounded! My resume and essay highlighted my interests in politics as well as outside activities (ie sports, theatre, music, community service, etc) So excited for the program, can’t wait to meet you all!

I applied to PLE as well. I have a well rounded resume with seven activities. Heck I got into Columbia High School Law Institute! I’m really confused why I did not got in?

@cheergirl99 Did you apply Regular Decision?

Hey!!! Got accepted to gs rd !!! So happy !

arreba: did you get a place on the waitlist, or a direct rejection?

7 activities? My resume was three pages long, well-rounded and I didn’t get in either, so I don’t know what they’re looking for :(

@astaff95

What did you talk about in your essay?

In the essay I focused on all the stuff related to PLE I’ve done and how that’s influeced me. I’ve been neck-deep in politics for the last two years in my own country, and I also spoke about how YYGS could help me with gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to change the bits and pieces of it that are not so great.

I’ve heard Americans speak of ‘essays’ whereas in England we refer to it as ‘personal statements’ and we’re always told to make it as focused on our particular subject as possible. Well- rounded is not something that Brits care about, but that was reflected in my resume rather than the essay.

Dear me, this is really depressing. I was soooo turned on for yale :(

@astaff95 I got placed on the waitlist. But they did said in my email that they would consider me of anyone drops out or something.

My resume was three pages long as well. I came to US in middle of nineth grade and my background is GSCE so I know what you’re talking about.

I lead every organization in my school from student government to book club. I didn’t focused much of politics but rather on law, since it was Politics, law and economy. I had Online Model UN and the state Mock & Moot Court competition ong with my acceptance to Columbia University’s High School Law Institute. My essay was focused on my hopes to pursue a career in law and my academic achievements.

I was so looking forward to spend summer at Yale! But I’m doing this program by New York State Bar Association now.

Yes I did regular decision! I actually mailed it the day before the deadline!

Honestly, you never really know what they’re looking for. It could be based on a variety of things. But congratulations on getting into Columbia High School Law Institute! That’s great! :)

Guys!
Did you get off the wait-list?!

Hi everyone! I’ve applied my app for this year 2014. Does anybody know when the result comes out? Thanks

Everyone should be notified by April 1st, at least according to the mail which confirmed my application.

Is it true that applying for financial aid lowers your chances of getting in? Because I still haven’t heard back yet :O

Can anybody please give me stats on what a “standard” accepted applicant looks like? Thanks!

I think I read somewhere that we will be notified around the first week of April.
I hope we all get in.

Results came out Yesterday

I got into my second choice which was GS. no financial aid though

My mom makes below $15,000 as a single parent and no aid
