I am applying to the Yale Young Global Scholars Program and an equally interested in both programs. I am currently taking Economics and loving it, but also enjoy participating in Model UN, Model Congress, etc. I have a strong ethnic / international background and speak several languages, and am well traveled. Thanks in advance for your advice/recommendations on these programs.

hi im applying too haha. your ecs sound pretty good, but be more specific? im probably not qualified to chance you cause this is the first time im applying to any prestigious precollege program. and i think my chances are very slimsince so far none of my ecs are exactly econ or policy oriented, but i do enjoy learning about new things. are you a junior or sophomore?

I did it two summers ago. I’ll be a Yale 2018er this year, so feel free to inbox me w/questions.

haha i think i misread the question as a chance me thread…but i guess now is too late to give my opinion on ple or gs since the deadlines passed already…

Can anyone who went before say whether they tell u exactly on April 1 or before

Can anyone who went before tell me whether they will notify you under any circumstances (—if rejected)

How many people are rejected?

When are the decisions out?

My son received notification that he has been accepted in the Grand Strategy seminar. He received some very modest financial assistance, so once school’s out, he’ll get a part-time job!

accepted into Grand Strategy! but only offered 30% scholarship. i might not be able to go.

Got in Science, Innovation and Policy!!

just an FYI, YGS is not run by Yale itself, so you’re dealing with a different office of financial aid. Just thought I’d throw that out there because the program is certainly NOT need blind.

@MikeNY5 how was your experience at the program? Is it worth going if you’d have difficulty affording it?
any feedback would be appreciated :)
