Yale's students contribution

Hello! I would like to know what Yale expects to hear from their applicants when they ask “What would you contribute to Yale’s community?”

I think Yale expects a thoughtful and honest reply to the question. Nothing more, and certainly nothing less. Thank on it.

I think there is always the expectation that we need to be brilliant all the time when being ourselves is just enough! Thank you so much!

Be yourself. Seems today I keep answering a lot of posts with “be authentic”. Find the “you” in Yale and concentrate on that. Good luck.

Show that you will be a good roommate, a good citizen and a good ambassador of the Yale brand.

Look through Yale’s brochure: http://admissions.yale.edu/sites/default/files/files/yale_prospectus_2015_16.pdf
Where do you fit in? What co-curricualr activities are you interested in? What would Yale gain by having you involved in those activities on their campus? What would your roommate gain by having you as a friend? What life experiences do you bring to the table? Answer honestly, without bravado. They are not easy questions, but keep this quote in mind as you think about your responses
