Yalies: the Best

Psychic - I certainly do. Some kind family friends actually just bought me a pennant that reads "For God, For Country, and for Yale" as a graduation present (very kind of them - they had a daughter at Harvard!). I'm so excited to put it up, I just don't know where. With the poster that Yale sent me and the pennant I bought when I was up in New Haven, things might get a little crowded / gauche with a third item.

More relevantly - set your goal as Yale if you wish, but you're right. Don't fall head over heels if you can help it. I'm sure you are an exceptional student and I mean no disrespect, but not even the best of students can be considered a "sure thing" in today's college admissions crapshoot. Better to find yourself five or six schools where you know you could be happy. As great as Yale may be for you, there are other schools that will be great for you as well, and where you can receive a topnotch education.

Best of luck to you!

Warmly,
DMW

Amen to that...admissions ANYWHERE these days (esp the next two years, from what I've heard) is going to be absolute hell.

[But at least Yale is NICE about it...none of that "thou art not worthy to look upon me" crap :)]
