BTw im not sure if this is big but i have like trends going on in my app for French and for Science.

I put my major academic itnerest as Foreign Language and my second as Biology.

French: great teacher rec from french teacher, put the top 10 ranking on french contest for 3 years as my second best award, French Honor Society and French Club President, main essay is about my passioante pursuit of French and taking a raelly long french class during one of my summers and how i read harry potter in french outside of class

Science: Intern at lab for last two years, honorable mention and merit award at two local fairs, bigest accomplishment is Siemens Semi-Finalist obsviously, 760 on Bio Sat2, 5 on AP Bio, A in AP Bio class…

i hoep they are able to catch the emphasis that i tried to put on these two…but in the long run i dont think i have that great of a shot cause of my GPA and second teacher rec are both not absolutely blazing…my transcript shows decline which is horrible…its liek
10th grade: A A A A A A A- B+
11th grade: A A A A- A- A- A- A-

anyways…good luck to you all u guys are absolutely unbelivalble in all ur accomplishments

WAIT
i didnt even see that you wrote Siemans!!
that’s REALLY good - everyone from my school who has gotten into Stanford has either been a finalist or semifinalist
so that’s definitely a boost!

well the judges select 300 semifinalists from the entire nation out of like 1200 so i think it counts for a national award…the actual nationals however ARE taking place around dec. 7 or so…those kids were sleected from the semifinal pool to represent their regions…they can basically go to any college tehy want save an ok gpa and ok sat scores

W/e, i asked only because my friend made it seem like the entries are judged in a regional pool and compared to the projects submitted from the same region at first. Either way, I think it’ll help.

ummm well i don’t think you’re a shoo in
but you do have a good chance
mind you, the people from my school who got in did have siemens, but they also had a 4.0, a lot more leadership, and more AP tests
and, contrary to what st. aegis thinks, your gpa is an extremely important factor to stanford
so yea, you have as good a chance as anyone, but don’t EXPECT to get in, ya know?

thanks guys…especially st. aegis and oprah lol…u guys are quickly becoming cc stars…and yeah im not gonna expect a definite acceptance letter by any means. Before later- october i had sights on cornell or something with a 31 act and no sat 1 yet. But on oct. 23 i got my sat score and on oct. 24 i got notified about siemens so i thought i might stand a chance in the applicant pool…ill be ok if i get rejected…i was fortunate enough to have some credentials to be able to apply in the first place.

to stanford, with those grades and siemens, is kind of one of those few factors that has a gurantee. Everyone at my school with those stats have gotten in, so I dont see why not Pose wont make it, and trust me, 150+ students applying to stanford from our school alone, you can see where I am driving this.

Oprah, for the last time, GPA aint everything, so get used to it

ah. well good luck. You’re probably fine then. Although there are quite a few Stuyvesant kids here, there are far fewer than are qualified. You’re probably better off in Long Island.

Hi Pose716. I am a representative from Stanford University. After examining your resume, I find that it was rather short and bland and would like to get to know you better.
