I applied early decision to Cal Poly in the Recreation, Parks & Tourism major with an emphasis on special event planning. It’s in the Agriculture college.

Do I have a shot? I’ve been in almost all honors and AP classes, too. Getting misdiagnosed for 7 months really brought my grades down. I was a 4.0 student up until high school when I first got sick, and I’m a 4.2 student now in my senior year after I was properly diagnosed and given medication to ease the pain. However, my heart still aches when I think about my low GPA in freshman and sophomore years that’s just killing me. Yikes.

The college at Cal Poly that I’m applying to has an average GPA of 3.5. Since Cal Poly applicants’ competition is only the students of the same major, I thought I had a shot. Compared to the Fall 2007 stats, my SATs are exactly their average, my ACT is two points higher, but my GPA is still .2 below. Is this a reach? Pleaaaase, I need some reassurance of I won’t make it to December 15th/mid-February! :frowning:
(hopefully I will only be waiting until December 15th) :D

Please reply with your input!

hey, i just read yours and i feel like i’m in pretty much the same position as you are. I just applied ed to cal poly under the ag business major(college of agriculture). your stats look pretty good. I have friends who go to cal poly who got in on a 3.0. it seems like you probably have a pretty good chance- what are your average number of “work hours” and average number of “extracurricular hours” per week, like you specified on the ap. hang in there-only a couple more weeks!

I got into Cal Poly on Early Decision!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!

I had 240 hours. :D

YAaaay I hope to see you there!!!
