as u guys can see my sats arent as strong compared to my gpa/class rank... so i am a classic example that these people do not just look sats (as what i previously thought), but rather the whole app.

on my status page it says everything was received 11/11 but i got that email saying they have begun to process everything 11/16.

One of my friends just got in today. He applied around mid to early december.

I got in today too for engineering =] Im from Maryland and I applied early December.

What part of MD

<--Mont. County here

haha i think we talked before...Montgomery Co. i go to Watkins Mill HS

oh yeah....

doh
hah..congrats

wantpenn, when did you apply?

i applied beginning of november and they confirmed that they had everything on November 16th. From then was A LOT of anxious waiting. I had heared a lot of my friends were accepted and they applied around the same time. I thought maybe the wait meant i didnt get in, but thankfully not.

So good luck with your acceptance.

was your acceptance accompanied by financial info?

kdos, financial aid info did not come with my acceptance. i believe mich sends them out to the ppl who applied for aid in march.

Merit Aid is sent shortly after the acceptance, whether you applied to aid or not.

Some schools require you to send in FAFSA even if you don't qualify for need-aid, but if you want to be considered for merit. Is Michigan then not requiring FAFSA?

Not for Merit Aid. My sons both received their merit aid offer a couple of weeks after their acceptance. One in October, one in November. Long before FAFSA is due.

Can you tell me what UMich GPA mean? Does it just mean Unweighted or something?

unweighted.....
70-79 = 2.0
80-89 = 3.0
90+ = 4.0

use only academic courses..not business/computer classes

I was look at Umich's site, and they say the following about average GPA:

Middle 50th percentile of the class
High School GPA of 3.6-3.9 (academic courses only; un-weighted) 10th & 11 grades

Does that mean that the high school GPA noted there only includes 10th and 11th grades. Oh ya, are religion and philosophy consider to be academic classess?
