Yay no school tomorrow :)

My school system gets so few snowdays or even delays that there are Facebook pages and groups devoted to bashing the superintendent and Baltimore in general. The worst of it was when we were expected to come in for three hours on the day before winter break despite snow on the ground and ice on the roads.

my school has been closed from last Friday. so it’s been Friday, plus weekend, then Monday, Tuesday. Tomorrow it’ll be closed, and i bet Thursday too… In June we’ll have to pay for all these winter fun time.

^You live in Maryland too?

How do you guys find out this early? I don’t know yet.

Because we’re cool. :P

I live in TN, and we have had 5 snow days total since getting back from the holiday break! It’s because we do not have the equipment to deal with snow/ice at all. They try to throw sand down in some areas and that is about it. Some stores that stay open attempt to put sand or cat litter down as well.

Basically, I think we have had a 3 or 4 day weekend every week so far. It’s actually going to be weird having a normal 5 day week after this.

We’ve had one 5 day week in 2010. And it was hard, being so unused to it.

We haven’t missed enough that we’ll have to make it up, which is good. Last year, we had 3 days off for a wind storm (actually a hurricane) and 4 more for snow, so we were supposed to make up 2 days, but no one came.

Bayhawk:

Where in MD are you? I’m in HoCo.

Something’s not right here.

I know, I know, but check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cincinnati_Blackout</a>. We were shocked too.

Yeah, I’ve got the rest of the week off. Last Friday we got out of school early, no school this entire week, and of course Monday off for President’s Day.

Yep, maryland. no school, probably for at least another three days. i start to get tired of this. the weather is so bad i can’t even to ski.

Chesterfield County Public Schools are closed. I am in school. They are like "We are thinking about letting high schooler out at 1pm [elementary + midlle schools were cancled]. It is blizzarding outside… It’s completely political, too. The elementary school parents were complaning that school was out when it should not have been (and they don’t have school today). (There have been accidents this morning outside a highschool, btw) =)

Also, sutdents are not allowed to drive home… Parents have to pick us up apperently.

I’m p1ssed.

You guys are lucky, I have school, but am home because I’m sick.

No school today for me. There will probably be school tomorrow, but I’m happy about that because on Thursdays we wear pink! I mean go skiing.

No school for me…it was anticipated that we had 24+ hours of snow starting at 5-6 this morning, but it hasn’t even started! 8-14 inches expected, so my school closed last night, and still no snow even dropped at 11 AM. Our weatherman is outrageously bad.

@Baltimoron: Baltimore County.
@DMOC: Most Maryland school systems post closings on their websites

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Baltimore County just called off the rest of the week and President’s Day was a scheduled day off. That makes 7 straight days out of school plus weekends. Report cards were supposed to come out tomorrow and my sax is in the building still :(

our weather is officially turning into a blizzard this morning. don’t know how long it’s going to last.

Supposed to last the whole day i think

This is so amazing! The only time I have ever seen winds like this was during Hurricane Isabel.
