Yay! Status changed to "coming days"

cal1594…my daughter has had that status since September 15th. I live in PA and I have watched the Penn State admission process unfold for many years. You can go back and check out threads from past years to see the same pattern. The higher your stats, the earlier you will find out.

Each year, they admit the strongest candidates first. Then they start sending out rejections and branch campus admission to people at the lower end. Then, they slowly work their way towards the middle. So, if you stats are high, you will probably hear before Christmas. People with lower stats may not hear until closer to the deadline (Jan. 30th)

Good luck!!

I submitted my application on 10/27. Its been roughly 2&1/2 weeks. Ive had the “Your application is complete, all of your required materials are here, and we are reviewing your credentials. A decision will be available here as soon as one is made.” status for such a long time. I’m the type that gets nervous really easily and this is making me super super nervous.

Can anyone give me a quick guess as to when I might get my decision?

My Stats…
My GPA: 3.41 UW
My ACT: 32
My APs: AP BC Calculus (5); AP Biology (5); AP Chemistry (In Progress); AP Computer Science (In Progress); AP Physics Level C (In Progress)
College I’m Applying to: College of Engineering
Campus I’m Applying to: University Park
State: New Jersey
My Extra Curricular: Some Sports and Vice President of a Club

I’m worried because I am a total Math & Science student. The reason for my GPA not being amazing is because of my English and History classes. I hope they don’t mind since I am applying for College of Engineering.

Good Luck to all of you others. I can guess that all of us who haven’t gotten the status change must be tearing out hair out at this moment. My mom got upset with me cause I have been running around freaking out about when Penn State would get back.

Still…Good Luck!!!

Hang in there. It might be a long wait. My daughter submitted her application mid Sept and has had your status for over 1 1/2 months now. Good luck.

It could come at any time. I was lucky to only have to wait 12 days.

My status just changed to “in coming days” and the picture remained the same (university park) what does this mean?

Pennstate330…with a 4.0 GPA, you can probably assume that you are in!

Status changed to coming days!!

The picture is still University Park.

My GPA is 95 W, 91 UW (about a 3.9-4.0 unweighted depending on the system)
SAT is 1840 and ACT is 28. Great EC’s, personal statement, and recs but I know Penn State doesn’t care much about that.

What do you think that means?

i hope so!!!

med286, did you apply for fall with optional summer or did you apply with summer as your first choice?

I’ve had that “decision will be available here as soon as one is made” status for about a month now. It sucks but you just gotta wait it out :(

Anyone know what they think my decision will be? Sorry I’m just so nervous now!

@rsmith4494 you’re as good as in. you just have to wait for the official acceptance, which will probably update online before getting a letter in the mail. at least that’s how mine was.

Ah thank you! Can’t wait to find out. Congrats to you!

if your stats are borderline and you chose summer, do they then look at your extracurriculars and personal statement?

I think if you are borderline then, yes, they will look at your ECs and personal statement. I don’t know if that specifically applies to if you chose summer though.

Does anyone know if it is good that my picture stayed as University Park after my “coming days” status appeared?

I just got accepted to University Park for Fall 2012.

SAT - 1140/1740
ACT - 25
GPA - 4.0
great ECs and essay .

seni0r, when did you submit your application?

I do not remember the exact date, however it was towards the middle to the end of October.

I submitted mine on November 1st and mine still hasn’t changed to the coming days status. Maybe by December 1st I’ll know…hopefully.

Don’t worry. I submitted mine in mid-September and it took until mid-November to change to coming days (still waiting to hear decision!). Don’t freak out if yours doesn’t change right away though, it takes a while for them to sort through all the applications.
