does anyone remember questions they were asked?

we should dress casually? i have no idea what questions they ask...mine is in 2.5 weeks...

mine's on jan 22.. i meant dress casual as in... casual dress... o.0 if that makes any sense

Yeah...Mine is Jan 15....how are these interviews conducted??? more help por favor

Wait mine's this sunday so help me first. lol we all need help. Do we wear formal clothes or what ? My dad says formal, i dont know what to think.

Hi All-
I had an interview in November (accepted ED). My interview was at a coffee shop-very informal. I wore jeans. I don't think they expect you to dress formally--just neatly.

Good Luck to all of you!

wow, my interview is in a coffee shop too. is the norm ? ANyway thanks for the info!

I just hope my interview doesnt end up dressing really formally and i go there wearing jeans and what not

Anyone else who could talk about their experiences ?

my interview dressing really formally*

wow i end up missing a lot of words in my sentences

nomad, mind sharing with us what you guys talked about in your interview? Did the interviewer (is he/she a recent graduate?) focus on you as a person, or on your activities or anything?

I will when i have it. ( Its this sunday )

Wow guys help me out here, should i go dressed formally or informally ?

i have one on the 8th, i'm not sure what i should ask though

My interview is on the 8th as well. I'm not sure how I should dress since it's not at a coffeeshop or anything of that sort - it's at a private school in New York City. I'm not sure if, since it's a different atmosphere, we're expected to dress a bit more formally.

Any opinions?

Do these interviews have any real weight to their decision in terms of how much of an advantage would you receive if you did well?

I don't think they do. I wanted to do one (when I got that postcard in mid-December), but there weren't any available in my area. I e-mailed the person involved in the interviews (I think her name is Patricia Craig) to try and frind one in which I could take part, and she stated that they really won't change what my final decision will be amd that Northwestern won't hold people accountable for not having one if they're not in the person's area.

then what's the pt of having them? they'd decrease your chances if you're a really really bad person i guess.. but.. idk.. =/
i'm nervous cuz i've never done an interview.. first usually isn't too good for things

nomad i suggest business casual (that's what i meant b4) to casual if it's in a coffeeshop. like reese said interviews aren't that important apparently, but ... still.. make a good impression.. as long as you're not in you know... sweatpants and a dirty t-shirt

well, when u do get ur interview could u post what the interviewer asked and stuff? thankssss

Don't be nerveous, afaforce. They're really not a big deal. I think they're mainly there to give the applicant more info about the University and the University more info about the applicant that was not in the application.

The only interview I've ever taken part in was the one that I had to do in 8th grade as a part of the application process in order to attend one of the high schools that I'm at right now. For me, it was scary (even though it only lasted a few minutes) because I was applying to that school, and I was afraid that I was going to say something wrong. However, I guess that that's true for any type of interview. I think all you have is first timer "gitters."

Is an interview required for Northwestern?

nope (I need 10 characters so...)

Hmm i sorta disagree with one of the above posts. Look at this way, interviews are important to those who can have them and do, unimportant to those who cant have one. Its like a resume it adds to your application.

HMMM What exactly does buisness casual mean ? Sorry but now i am really confused.
Will a neat shirt and trousers do ? I dont want to dress in a suit and emarass the interviewer if he's wearing casual...

lol yes absolutely.... neat shirt and nice pants. that's all u gotta do
