Ye Olde Chances Thread

I'm a rising senior with an interest in creative writing. I'd like an opinion or two on my chances at the following schools (an elite group, I know):

Yale
Princeton
Brown
Northwestern
UChicago
Wash U
Cornell

Objective:[ul]
[] SAT I (breakdown): CR: 800, M: 780, W: 780 (Single sitting)
[] SAT II: Took this month, anticipating 700+
[] Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 4.0
[] Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): Top 2% (Class of 800+)
[] AP (place score in parenthesis): World History (5), Spanish Language (4), awaiting results for the four tests I took this year
[] Senior Year Course Load: 5 APs
[] Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): Scholastic Gold Key (Short Story), one national prize for short fiction, some University Interscholastic League stuff
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Tutoring, English Honor Society, watching films from the Criterion Collection, writing, cross country
[] Job/Work Experience: None
[] Summer Activities: Iowa Young Writers' Studio, Duke TIP
[/ul]Other[ul]
[] School Type: Large public
[] Ethnicity: White
[] Gender: Male
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): None
[/ul]

I know it's hard, with such little information, to make accurate predictions. I'm just curious what some of you think. Am I on track? (Yes, I know my extracurriculars are lacking. Any suggestions?)

Clearly you are an excellent student. But, like you already said, the EC’s are lacking. That could be the only thing holding you back

I don’t see any passion… nothing that sets you apart from the tens of thousands of other Ivy applicants. You’re probably good for NW and Wash U though.

You have a good shot at all of those schools, but Yale and Princeton are reaches.
