haha~ USA has so many extremes...
while homosexuals and gays freely engage their stuff in coast cities suchas San Francisco or NY, down there in the bible belt one can be arrested for buying alcohol on Sunday... whoa!!

Actually you couldn't buy liquor on Sundays in Massachusetts up until a few years ago. It's also against the law to sell any alcohol in a grocery store. I go up to New Hampshire and see beer in Stop & Shop and it's kind of weird.

The alcohol thing is so weird though. You can only buy it in specified stores. It's a waste of fuel to drive from the grocery store to the liquor store.

The stupidest law of all is in NC if you are ages 17-20 you are not allowed to go inside or be on any liquor store premise. You can't even go in with your parents. They have a huge sign posted. But for some reason if you are under 17 its okay. That one always got me. I guess they don't even want you thinking about drinking.

Well, if people wish to worship god, then let them do so. Don't move to the south if you don't like. Personally, I find the south to be beautiful, with great people, cheap cost of living, and beautiful architecture.

Blah, many of you live in New England which is as liberal as you can get. No wonder the ratio of atheist to theist here on CC is quite stark. Blah!

Hey I love the South, there are just a few strange things about the laws there. I was born and raised a Southerner and I'm going to college there as well.

Oh really? Which college in the south, Scarlet? I want to attend University of Virginia

Yes me too. Next year I shall seek a transfer there.

I'll be going to Wake Forest University, in North Carolina. I looked at UVa, but chose Wake instead.

lmfao@UVA.

I would have definetly busted that principal in the face, then took the school for all it's worth

firewalker, why do you laugh at UVA. I am sure it is much better than the community college that you attend.

Yeah..NYU..that place is pretty sketchy, if you ask me..

I'd rather live in most of the states in the bible belt than Michigan.

Sorry Leah, but NYU is not as good as UVA. You live in the south, stop being such a yankee; you were born a southerner and you shall be educated as a southerner. Git R' DONE!

Gee, I wonder what happens when you click "Report Offensive Post." Maybe I should try it on some one.

I would go to a community college over NYU. UVA is cool.

I live in the bible belt and we are just fine.. (<- might be mostly because of my district though) I know a girl whos wearing hair coverings (muslim) and she's not treated any differently and the teacher doesn't tell her to put it off (<- although head coverings aren't allowed.. which makes you think about how fair it is.. but if its your faith, oh well)

Its called a hijab. Bloody backward and dogmatic thing, if you ask me.

I wouldn't go to a community college over either NYU or UVA, but I would go to NYU over UVA and I think this thread is getting a bit vicious. Let's try to keep all Union/Confederate allegiences on the DL.
