Yeah we're number 6!

Have you checked out the recent USNWR rankings for “Best Undergrad Teaching?” We’re number 6!!! [Best Undergraduate Teaching | Rankings | Top National Liberal Arts Colleges | US News](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-liberal-arts-colleges/undergraduate-teaching)

I’m only bringing this up because this ranking is the only one that matters and because I’ll get to brag about my wonderful little school for a bit. I had a chat with a highly-regarded prof (who isn’t actually my prof) about academics, rankings, Kant, and of course, mermaids. He said that the only ranking that matters is “Undergrad teaching” because the only thing the other rankings go by is how much the school has in endowment. He commends Reed for standing up for itself but chastises the Little Three for not doing the same.

Beloit is awesome, simply put. He said that Beloit now is like what Carleton was when he went there - a strong institution with not a lot of ego/eliteness.

I hope we never succumb to the fallacy of rankings.

Yep, it’s pretty cool. Which professor were you talking with? (I’m an alum, class of '11.)

D is a '11 alum as well. Yes, Beloit is fantastic.
