Yeahyeahyeah another chance me =P

Well, I know Amherst is a reach for everyone, but I’d like to know what current students, or anyone else, really, thinks my chances are. I wanted to apply early decision because I really, really, really love this place, but I need to compare financial aid packages.

Please be gentle. >.< Any questions, feel free to ask.

Student:

Gender: F

Class Size: 257

Scores:

ACT: 32

My school doesn’t really have a lot of clubs, and they focus more on discipline issues than academic achievement, so we don’t receive a lot of honors either.

My AP scores, if they’ll help:
History- 3 (sophomore year)
Micro Econ- 4 (junior year)
Macro Econ- 5 (junior year)
Government- 4 (junior year)
Comp Gov- (will take senior year)
Calc AB- (will take senior year)
English Lit- (will take senior year)

I’ll also be doing dual enrollment at a local community college senior year.

If you apply ED you lose your chance to compare financial aid packages so beware of that. Your GPA and class rank look pretty good. The ACT is very good. Write GREAT essays and hope for the best. It is always a crap shoot at these elite schools! Take a look at the stats of the students accepted this past year - some have “better” stats than you and some “worse”. (I hate using those terms and “valuing” students that way).
