Yearbook (and Newspaper) Affects GPA

I have a question. I'm taking all AP classes so they're all 5 points. In addition, I'm taking Yearbook which requires you to be in the Yearbook "class". You get a grade for it and everything and unfortunatley it affects your GPA. Yearbook is a 4 point class unlike the 5 point classes I'm taking. Are there some colleges that do not factor in the Yearbook class?

I am in the same boat.

I took Oracle “the yearbook” my sophomore with all honors classes. I wouldn’t recommend it; planning the layouts and actually filling them in is VERY time consuming. I must say it had a profound effect on my average in Honors Bio.

Colleges also like to see you have a passion for things and thusly might very well look highly upon you working your way up to Editor and seeing a passion for yearbook rather than a mere extra AP course. If you really want to learn the material then indipendent study it.
