yep another chances

i just applied today, i know kinda late but i wanted to know what my chances were
SAT 1980 (1270 out of 1600)
GPA - 3.55 unweighted
UM GPA - 3.7 (if i calculated correctly)
please give me feed back ... and be honest

also i got a 27 on the ACT's

How is your UM GPA higher than your reg? Did you do bad in like Gym and stuff? I don't know, I'd say UM is a little reach. What EC's did you have?

hey im new at this, this doesn't apply to any particular posting, but I can't figure out how to make a post. Can someone please help?

well, i went to a college fair and the admissions officer there told me that michigan doesnt look at 9th grade, so when caluclating my gpa i only considered 10th and 11th grade academic courses

also, my EC's include:
President of B'Nai Brith Youth organization (9-12)
Vice President of We the People Club (11-12)
Committe Member of Habitat for Humanity (9-12)
Community Service at Jewish Community Center (150 Hours)
Varsity Lacrosse (10-12)

Im Also Oos So I Know That Doesnt Help

Slight Reach...since your OOS :(

ok well, i knew that michigan was a reach but what about the rest of my list:
umaryland
uindiana
uwisconsin
GW
Emory
Penn State
Delaware
Suny Bighamton

also does any one know if the kineisiology program is harder or easier to get into because thats where i applied to at Michigan

also does anyone know approx how long it takes to hear back?

The College of Kinesiology is actually quite hard to get into...if you aren't a recruited, Division I level athletes. Michigan generally takes 2-3 months to get back to most of their applicants, but one never knows. I have hear of people who got their replies within a month and other who had to wait 6 months for a reply.

i just applied kines cause my couselor said that if tahts what i wanted then thats what i should do, im so distraught, i feel like i completely ruined my chances at michigan :(

You have not ruined your chances. Kines for non-recruited athletes is about as hard to get into as LSA. I was just trying to impress upon you that Kines is not a safe option. Your councellor was right on the money. Always apply to the college you want to apply to, not to the one you think may be easier to get into.

i sure hope your right, i have never wanted anything more but to go to michigan, and i just dont want to think that i ruined my chances by applying kines... boy college is stressful
