YES Abroad 2019-2020

@AzAllisonR sorry for the late response! there were just a lot of factors, parents, school credit, etc. but to be honest it was the just wrong place, wrong time. i am still kind of upset about it, but i guess it was not just not meant for me. good luck if you are an applicant!

I am an alternate for YES abroad. Does anyone know what the usual alternate turnover rate is for the program?

There’s not a set percent of what the turnover rate is, but it’s high according to what some people say, since people usually apply to YES Abroad along with the CBYX, NSLI-Y scholarships, and get accepted to multiple of them.

I got accepted into Malaysia!

i had to reject my position for final in malaysia, i am glad you got it!! hope you enjoy it, update me on your journey! good luck

Does anyone know of other ways to talk to other finalists other than Facebook?

Wow, National Pre-departure Orientation is less than a week away! I’m excited that you all will get to meet each other.

My daughter has her student visa and is packing for her year. She is in one of the groups that will leave straight away after orientation. She has been assigned her host school and host family now. We were a little nervous waiting to find out, but I’m very excited for her. What a year ahead!
