I wrote a great essay about my involvement with keeping a saltwater reeftank, which is one of the major factors in me choosing Biology as a major. I was also involved with a local reefkeeping club for three years, which gave me a lot of exposure to people in the marine biology field, as well as important people in the reefkeeping hobby.
I have a recomendation from a chemistry teacher who helped to change my attitude towards academics in sophomore year, as well as one from my junior year english teacher.

As far as demonstrated interest goes, which I have heard is vital at Lehigh, I have been to campus twice. Tommorow the regional admissions counselor is coming to my highschool and I'll be there for some face time as well. I also made prior contact with him about doing early decision because this is where I want to go to school. Unfortunately for my chances to be admitted I can't go ED because my family doesnt know if Lehigh's offer will allow us to afford a 50k a year Tuition.

Its alright to tell me you don't think I'll make it, because most of the time I dont either.

I think you have a great chance at getting in! To ease your mind consider a girl from my school with an 1180/1600 on her SATs who applied ED last year, and got it for biology

I'm a Lehigh parent and also think you have a decent ED chance. I can also tell you that Lehigh claims to be "generous" with need based aid, but doesn't give out a lot of merit aid. My daughter's stats were better than yours and she got no merit aid.

I think you and your parents should crunch some numbers using the financial aid calculators that Lehigh recommends. See Lehigh University :: Admissions: Estimate Your Need. Then you will have a starting point, but no guarantees.

Your parents and GC must sign off on an ED application. I'm sure your parents aren't going to sign that application if they can't handle the worst case scenario.
