I’m a little confused as to the whole optional prescreen. Can anyone explain it to me? Most schools are either/or - it’s not up to use to choose.
@carriemc95 - My S just graduated from WSU, so the prescreens were not a thing when he applied (they may have been in place, but I don’t recall any discussion about them and since we live close by the travel was not an issue.) My understanding is that WSU’s prescreens are really intended to let those who have NO chance of getting in an opportunity to save money/time for traveling to the campus for auditions. In the past, WSU has not participated in unifieds and has only sporadically attended some other off-site audition venues. All students who complete the application process on time (don’t wait until the deadline, spots will fill up before then) are welcome to attend an audition. Hope this helps,
We submitted the optional pre-screen to WSU because we live in the Seattle area and didn’t want the expense of traveling to Dayton if she didn’t have a chance. She passed so we felt confident that it was an option. She just completed her freshman year at WSU!
