i've been waitlisted.

and i truly want to believe in the tufts syndrome.

this spells hope for brown, which is coming out in an hour or so.

Explain please why you want to believe in the tufts syndrome and how it spells hope for brown

flat out rejected. i got deferred ED 1 and thought I stood a good chance

rejected here as well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yield_protection

here's the link explaining it.

because tufts is famous for waitlisting people who they think will end up at better schools, because tufts is kinda known for ivy rejects. so they do not admit all the good applicants first, in case they all go to ivies and they end up with a very low yield rate. so it may suggest that tufts think i'm good enough for better schools hence it spells hope for brown.

and no i do not think of tufts as a safety school or a place for ivy rejects, but that is just what it is widely considered as.

i hope i'm making sense. it's 5.04am for me here in singapore, I've been staying up almost everyday to wait for decisions.

That makes sense, and the parents on the BU thread are saying that is why there kid was waitlisted or rejected. But if youlook at the Tufts RD link you see a lot of kids with very high stats getting accepted. I never visited the school or contacted them. So...I don't know...

hmm. got waitlisted also. im not really upset because i got into jhu, chicago and penn today... but i don't know if this is tufts syndrome or just they don't like me. i don't think im going to stay on (and actually, i had already decided i was going to choose one of those three over tufts sooo oh well.) it's wierd though because i made a big point in my interview to talk about how much i liked tufts and wanted to go there. oooh well. college is weird.

That actually makes me really nervous...I mean, cause it sounds like if Tufts does accept you, they think you won't be ditching them for another school (probably Ivy), and I guess that would mean they think your application isn't reasonably strong enough to get into an Ivy.

I haven't been able to log on to Brown or Yale decision...probably will get rejected...

I GOT IN!!!!

I'm so excited, Tufts was my number one choice and I totally fell in love with it!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just wondering whether all those who posted on this thread, admitted or not, applied to the school of engineering or the college of arts and sciences
I was thinking whether or not the engineering school may be easier to getr into, since I got in with a 3.63, and upward grade trend, at a top-notch public HS, SAT 2140 (780m, 700v, 660w) SATII: Chem 770, mathII 800, ushistory 600, act 30, and only a couple of extracurriculars (wrestling, martial arts, math club, summer work) an ok interview, and I never visited the campus, and others on this post got rejected with much better stat's.
