umm.. im pretty sure that there are like 40+ yeshivot that YU will automatically accept credit forma dn let you start as a soph

that is correct booklet0519, http://www.yu.edu/jip/schools.asp has the list of the main schools they take credit from. If you apply as a freshmen to YU and tell them in the app that you will go to Israel first, they will help you get Federal Financial Aid and YU Aid as they will consider you a YU student.

Weird how this thread came back up. Anyway, I am planing on going to YU. I just, sort of, deferred my admission for a year to study abroad in Israel. While studying abroad, that's correct, I'll be getting a years worth of credit credited to YU. So in actuality i will only be spending three years on campus in New York.

If anyone has any questions regarding YU's program, Just ask away.

That is what they tell you but generally one year of study in Israel realistically gives you one semester of credit at YU or at any American institution. No matter if they give you one semester or one year of credit, you will not be able to finish school in 3 years. You only took care of some of your ** JEWISH STUDIES **. What about your major? When you arrive back, you have not done even one of the average 10 general studies courses that a freshmen takes (unless you have some AP credit).

I'm not criticizing your decision but I just thought this topic of going to a Yeshiva in Israel for a year needs some clarification.
