I’d say you’re going to be a competitive student in rd; however, that really isn’t saying much. There are other things BC considers such as ethnicity and religious background.Which school do you go to in NYC?

Dear FdIvySibling : Your 1990 SAT I and 29 ACT scores are below the mark for early admission and really on the margins in the regular decision pool. Being in the top 4% of your class will be a help.

Your New York City school will be an important consideration in your application review - Stuyvesant High School or Bronx High School of Science will get a very different reception than Jamaica High School. While your academics are average on the surface (limited AP course count), your participation in the Intel Science competition is compelling as I am very familiar with the work required on the twenty page paper to even enter the competition. The cricket element was interesting and might reflect an interesting cultural influence.

To close this review, take a second look at your closing statement : “…teaching little kids and rich old ladies…”. Now, while this was probably trying to be funny on the surface, this type of characterization, innocently meant, is what gets an application tossed into the trash without further consideration.

thanks scott, i’m actually applying RD and i’m hoping those scores will improve with my december attempts and the teaching little kids/rich ladies is just the job description i put on here, i believe on my app it goes along the lines of “budding tennis players, and older beginners” hahaha and i go to Susan E. Wagner High School, School of Excellence (LOL) Ethinicity is Asian but i have a hispanic last name and generic first nam, so i’m applying no response, let them make their own conclusions. Thanks for the Replies!

Yeah SAT math seems to kick my ass, i guess i’m a one subject at a time kind of guy, haha. but yeah those ECs are legit and i’m waiting on december scores we’ll see
