Yet another chance me thread...

Hello all, I have been going to an average state university for one semester now and was looking to transfer to UVA or Hopkins (hopkins being a high reach) as an incoming sophomore. My high school stats as less-than-stellar, I know; however I do believe my efforts since my high school years have been fairly decent.

High School:
GPA: 3.7 Weighted (5-point scale with A's in APs being worth a 5.0)
- I attained a 4.28 GPA as a senior in high school, if that shows a beneficial upwards trend
SAT: 1930/2400 // Math: 690 and Reading: 610
AP's:
Sophomore: 3 on world history
Junior: 5 on biology, 3 on eng lang, 1 on comp sci...
Senior: 5 on eng lit, 5 on psych, 5 on gov

College:
- major is biology
- 4.0 on first semester
- made president's list

EC's:
- Volunteered at a non-profit company for 2 weeks
- Interned at another different non-profit company the following summer before college for about 2 months, practically worked full-time
- Observership at local hospital during the winter break after my first freshman semester at college for one week

Alright guys, let me have it...

P.S. - will joining some student orgs at the beginning of my second semester and putting those on my application look bad due to the sudden nature of my affiliation with them or will it be alright?

oh and forgot to mention I am in-state for UVA

Sounds great… but is there a essay?

yes there are multiple essays for the common app and for the transfer applications specific to each university; I do believe those shouldn’t be much of a problem for me as I am rather proficient at writing effective and emphatic pieces

I was more focusing on the aspects of the applications which are currently out of my control.

bump…
