Yes i realize my GPA does not meet even the 2013 range but my grades have shown a upward trend which FSU admires. 5 Ap classes this year with 3 A's, 3 B's, and 1 C. Classes without an A were in classes that were my weaknesses academically (Ap bio, lit, stat (almost an A)). I honestly am scared of rejection, which i assume many are as admissions has been even more holistic due to what i assume their national championship win. I have a few questions however,

What are my chances?
And have decisions began to be released for march's decision (being reconsidered after being rejected so I am unable to tell)?

FSU bulk releases its decisions.

Do you have any D’s or F’s on your transcript? Were you denied or deferred the first go around? I think you’ve got a decent profile except for weighted GPA. I like your odds better if you don’t have any D’s or F’s.

I have the same question as Matt. You mentioned being rejected already by FSU… was that an outright rejection or just a deferment of a decision? If you were deferred I think you have a good shot of getting in, especially if you don’t have any Ds or Fs.

However, if you were outright rejected before, there was obviously something that FSU did not like. They rarely outright reject people in the December decision date, so if you were outright rejected there’s something you aren’t mentioning here.

I would need more information from you before I could give an honest opinion.

Sorry for the ambiguity. I had been rejected as a result of 3 D’s freshmen year but recently retook 1 and 1/2 semesters worth of classes to replace the grades with A’s in a span of a month. The original grade is present but noted as ineffectual on my transcript with the replaced grades posted on there also. Is this a problem that the D’s are still shown? However, it’s nice to hear my profile is relatively strong and appreciate your response.

If you were rejected then I don’t think there is anything you can do to get accepted this year…you can try transferring in from TCC which is known as the feeder for FSU

" With updated official test score results and midyear grades, your application will be automatically reconsidered for the March 19 notification. We will use test scores received from the January and February test dates provided you designated Florida State as an automatic score recipient. Updated transcripts, due by February 19, must include your midyear grades and should be sent by your guidance office." Quoted from a FSU admissions officer

I can’t see someone getting rejected outright during the December decisions and then getting accepted in March. There was a reason that they didn’t simply defer you.

"Your application does not meet the academic profile for our freshman class as shown below:

GPA: 4.0-4.7 weighted
GPA: 3.5-3.9 unweighted
SAT: 1780-1980 total
ACT: 26-30 composite

Your GPA is listed as 3.2 weighted and 3.0 unweighted. In reviewing your application, we were especially concerned with the multiple D grades on your transcripts. Most of the students we were able to offer admission to had no grades below B- on their high school transcripts."

I assume that I was outright rejected as a result of my low GPA even though my SAT was the same as mentioned above and one would not expect an individual of my GPA to replace all the D’s for the March deadline. I regret not replacing the D’s earlier for I would have at least been deferred in December. Statistically my chances of acceptance are low, but we’ll see.
