And i got one of my teacher recs from a music teacher because I thought the admission's office would want to see what i'm like beyond the classroom.
I also got accepted into Indiana University

UMD is my top choice, i'd appreciate the feedback. THANK YOU!

what school?

university of maryland, college park

I meant what high school did you go to and it is important to know how many IB/AP classes offered ar your school compared to how many you took.

oh my bad, i go to walter johnson, they offer 27 AP courses, i have done 7.

12th grade:
AB Calculus
Statistics
Psychology

11th grade:
Macro and
Micro economics
world history
spanish language

you are in.
A lot of my friends who got in have similar stats.

I would say in for humanities, such as music, but not honors humanities

I am not sure you are probaly in because of in -state but it is definitley borderline. Good luck.

what if i wanted to go into business?

Def not Smith.

but would i be able to go to smith, if i mantained a decent gpa in my freshman year?

If you maintained a 3.5+ and had decent extracurriculars, internships, I'd say you'd get in.

3.3+ and amazing ecs, same thing.

Smith is incredibly hard to get into after you are there. This is also true for all of their specialty depts (i.e. Honors, Gemstone, Scholars etc). From what I have read and been told you would need to apply to the school and you need to be the top of your class at UMD.

Bulletandpima,

They make it much harder than it seems. When I was there for a semester, I talked to applicants and advisors and they told me you'd MOST LIKELY be in with a 3.5+ and decent ECs, or a 3.3-3.4 could be suffice if you have amazing extracurriculars (president of SGA, top notch internships; Goldman Sachs, etc).

do you guys mean that a 3.5+ gpa and ec's in freshman year of cp to get into smith? or do you mean in high school?

When you are there...and from what I know for many kids econ is the grade buster! Goldman Sachs and internships rarely if ever are given in HS

My bad, we've had a miscommunication. I was replying to Dustbunny's inquiry about getting into Smith if you do decent during your freshmen year.
