yet another chance thread, but i need some help deciding what to do!

PSAT: 223, commended, should be semifinalist</p>

<p>UW GPA: 3.63 (ugh:/ ) (screwed up sophomore year)
Weighted: 3.98
school doesn't rank :)</p>

<p>1st place in the state engineering competition
15 dollar/hr job as a tutor for Princeton Review
Work in a restaraunt 4 days a week
Leadership position at summer in the city, a volunteer group that beautifies detroit in the summer
volunteer once a week teaching 5th graders sunday school
1 year varsity pole vault, 1 year freshman football, freshman and jv basketball, JV lacrosse 2 years, Varsity tennis captain 2 years</p>

<p>both parents went to Penn undergrad, Michigan grad school (mom law school, dad MBA)</p>

<p>Excellent recs, especially from my counselor.
Essays very good.</p>

<p>Your extra curriculars are weak and don’t spark any real interest among the elite school admission offices. Your ACT score is impressive and should get you into UM Ross Preadmit. With respect to the others schools, they might see your lack of effort during your sophomore year to be foreboding; or they might not. The fact that you don’t have a real impressive extracurricular activity(s) will make the schools you listed a real toss-up.</p>
