Yet another chance thread for an overly optimistic student!

Senior year course load: APUSH, AP euro, AP stats, AP lit, honors physics</p>

<p>Will graduate with 8 AP courses, most in my school</p>

<p>ECs
2 years varsity football (coaches award)
4 years cross country skiing (3 years varsity, coaches award, 1 year captain)
4 years debate (1 year captain, 3 years varsity, many awards on the local level)
4 years model UN (3 years captain, multiple state/regional level awards)
3 years spanish club
washed dishes/bussed since 8th grade
will volunteer at the historical society this year
appointed city attorney at Michigan boys state this year, won best citizen and was a member of honors county</p>

<p>Req letters will be excellent (AP gov teacher, AP biology teacher, councilor, and maybe football coach or model UN advisor)</p>

<p>Essay will be good, having it proofed by a lot of sources</p>

<p>Forget about Chicago, NU, Bowdoin, and Nova right now. Sorry but you really have no shot at those schools. GPA is too low and ACT is too low. Also your ECs don’t really stand out either. For UW-Madison and Miami, you have a chance if you can get your ACT and GPA higher. It will be a slight reach for you unless your ACT score significantly improves. Pitt, TCU, Bama and State should all pretty easy for you to get into. I think even with your ACT right now, you’re good enough to get into them.</p>

<p>I have to agree with the previous poster. Your ACT and GPA is too low for those top schools, unfortunately. But, I think you’d be competitive at the rest. Raise your ACT and GPA, and you may have a slight chance at them if you write a stellar essay.</p>

<p>your ACT & gpa are a bit low. But you will take the ACT again. try to bring up your gpa a bit. you should take the SAT as well.

<p>I think I should 4.0 first tri of my senior year, so that helps. (APUSH, euro, stats, lit) Other than that, I’m not surprised, I have a lot of high reaches. haha</p>
