The number of Advanced Placements is too damn high !! Good job. I am not an expert, but I think you have a very good chance.

Bump

Any advice on how to overcome the disadvantage of the low GPA would be very welcome.

^the fact that you are highly ranked I think makes up for the “low GPA” xD but make sure your essay is truly unique.

Put more schools on your list. I know a friend who had better stats than you but got rejected from every one of his 13 applications besides his safeties (case western, tulane).

I had better stats and got rejected from MIT and Stanford so be careful there.

Great job with all of the APs and not to diminish your accomplishments but art history really lol plus you listed physics c e and m as well as each one individually. As for your grades one thing that looks good for you is that your top 5% which likely means that getting 3.7 gpa at your school is very difficult and the best way for you to offset that gpa is with stunning essays. Make sure that you set yourself apart from all of the others who have comparable test scores. You have a good shot at Penn and while I would not be surprised to see that you got in there you are applying to Wharton!!! So no one is safe.

I wish you the best of luck! ;)

I just thought of one last thing and that is safeties try UM-Ross and UT Austin
