Yet another chances thread...

FishS- mine has been in for about a month now... but they won't have my mid-year grades until February, which sucks.

Thanks for all the replies. Admission anywhere really is such a kiss-and-go. I just have to keep my fingers crossed and trust that I'll go the best place for me. Hell, it's their loss if they don't take me ;o)

-WJJ

Hey Jake! From what I've read, it definitely would be their loss if they didn't take you. The fact that you're going into a specific major and you've had work experience is a huge plus. I think that will make up for any deficiency in scores. Good luck!!

Thanks, Hotelie! Lets hope so :) :)

yeah, I see no real downside to your application. did you figure out if your gpa was weighted?

FishS-

I'm so confused about calcuating my GPA and stuff and I have no idea what it is officially on my transcript. I want to say weighted... Also, my school does not rank. It's a Quaker school, and I am assuming that it would be a bit un-Quakerly.

-WJJ

That's pretty funny.

You can figure out your gpa based on your letter grades. If you post them, I could figure it out for you. Have you taken AP or accelerated classes? Does your school offer them?

One applicant giving another applicant his view on chances ?

FishS-

Using this (<a href="http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/advSearch/GPAConversionWindow.asp%5B/url%5D">http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/advSearch/GPAConversionWindow.asp</a>) and guessing my numerical grades...

4.18 weighted (with AP/Honors bump)

-WJJ

nomad- Just trying to give him my opinion. I have done a lot of research on the admissions stats for CALS.

wjj- Hey, that's good, it might have been a slight problem if your weighted was only 3.8.

why will being out-of-state hurt you? Cornell isn't a state school........

Anyway, I think you have a good chance. You're definitely not a shoe-in, but there's a chance.

The college of agriculture and life sciences is a land grant school, that means they are state-assisted and essentially a state school.
