Yet Another Chances Thread

Trust me, I've experienced and seen enough to know. I feel so much sympathy for the lower class, who are being consumed by our society. I want to make the world a better place and by doing that, I have to have an abundance of knowledge and wisdom.

The modern nations are going to fall sooner or later because of our development of weapons; nuclear, discovery of anti-matter, etc.

There has never been a time of peace for more than 50 years throughout the world, we might reach the clumax soon. A goverment never stays too long.

Yes, I have friends since I can manage my schedule unlike some people here.

So, what exactly have you "experienced"?

On this I sympathize with Masterus. These days, many children experiance things that make them loose their innocence about the world at young ages. It is very possible he experianced some extremely difficult things.

.................................. I'M biting my tongue

Sympathy? You seem to lack empathy for the mere mortals on this forum trying to find their way to a better education. If you "want to make the world a better place" you might start by helping make this form a better place and be helpful rather than hurtful towards others.

They said the same thing about the gattling gun and mustard gas in the 19th and 20th centuries. I suggest you spend more time studying history.

I believe the Swiss have been at it continually since the 13th century without a revolution.

The Swiss do have an incredible government. I'm very interested in Switzerland, and I studied it a little bit last year.

You are stronger than I prepeparent. Maybe it's just that I've been working 18 hour days, but some of the things on this board......let's bet our friend Masterus had less than an ideal prep school application experience as I'll bet many arrogant kids do. If I read another post about how someone is great at 32 things I'm going to lose my lunch. Now I'll cut a break for the 13 year olds, but some of the older kids..............there is one applicant posting on the "chances" board claiming to be an Andover student with a perfect GPA and calling it the world's best school. This is how preps get undeserved reps as being snotty. End of rant!

Wrong, Switzerland used to be a confederation, it was conquered by France and a new consitution was instilled. You shouldn't forget the Holy Roman Empire. Revolutions aren't the only form of change...Do you know how strong one anti-atom is? An anti-proton is strong enough to light a light bulb, Think of an atom, or even a container. A bomb could devestate half of a country or more. The world would fall into chaos easily. The first thought of the Gatling gun was that it wouldn't be useful in combat....

Switzerland has changed goverments many times, no country hasn't faced a change in goverment. There is no such thing as a utopia. Also you can't forget the civil war, just like a revolution.

I said I think that the Swiss government was incredible because they had the longest standing democracy in the world. That was my point. Sorry I forgot to mention it.

I'm sure you did, but you're also wrong, which is very funny because the US is the longest standing democracy to present day. The only thing interesting about Switzerland is it's Direct Democracy, which stands to be an interestinf form of Democracy. The oldest democracy was the Roman Repulic.

I know that there are technical reasons why Switzerland is not the oldest standing democracy. However, if it is not also in theory, I was misinformed, and I apologize.

I've concluded that "Masterus" is probably a fake....I've read his posts for a few days now, and I believe that he is not at all what he claims to be. His syntax, spelling and punctuation alone seem to give him a away as either a non-American poser just trying to "rile up" this board...and he's succeeding, it appears. I honestly don't believe that he's for real. Too arrogant and full of himself, yet not really coming across as "super intelligent" as he seems to want the readers of this board to think he is. I've reported him to the monitor, and hopefully, he will be gone soon.

PCKitty and Jonathan, too - stand up for yourself and do not assume that what Masterus says about your qualifications for bs has ANY basis in reality. You probably are very competitive and DO have an impressive background. He's either just trying to get everyone upset for some sad reason, or else he has a very UNhealthy lack of self-esteem.

Thankyou Jedwards.........Its been a long time

Yea - just been "reading" for a long while. But, I couldn't stand it anymore! These kids come on this board looking for moral support and information, and I hate to see some punk (real or not) stomp on their dreams. It's not his place to do so, and it's cruel.

So, we can all get back to infusing a dose of confidence in all the prospective students. From experience of going through this before with D1 and this board, as the time gets closer to March 10 students tend to tighten up a bit. It would be nice to get all of you built up by then. You all have strengths and maybe some weaknesses but, you're all worthy of bs. If you picked your schools wisely you'll up your chances.

I'm as real as it can be, search up Grade Detriments, Grade Detriemnts 2, it has more criticism. By the way jedwards, you called me a fake, which is against the conducts. Please reread it :) I memorized the conduct. The OP is asking for criticism, the world isn't nice. Not all smart people are nice, some are different.

I criticize people all the time, just take it. I've been doing this for monthes, it's what actually helps build up the people on this board. It pushes them, is everyone in your life going to cheer you on? no. Learn to live with criticism.

jedwards, I happen to know a lot about the admissions process, which is why I was commenting. If you ever ask someone at Andover or any top school, they'll say that most people they're above level in math. I proved my inteligence over the summer, I don't need it to do it for something like this.

Your punctuation needs work, you never use "too" to describe people.

People are on this board to BETTER themselves. How are you going to better yourself without open criticism. A CHANCE thread is open criticism.

READ posts around College Confidential, they're all like mine.

Parrot........................Telling people they are inadequate compared to you hardly qualifies as constructive. Telling people how "intelligent" you are hardly qualifies as constructive. Constantly correcting people in the manner you choose reeks of a lack of social skills.

perhaps you'd be more effective choosing a different route in helping.

People are on this board to gather and share information, not to better themselves.

Read my first post in here...You need to reread everything.

She asked for it...
