yet another "Chances" thread...

<p>Hey,
i was just wondering whether or not i have a chance of getting in to Tulane with my stats...</p>

<p>3.3/4 UW GPA
3.6 W GPA
i took a lot of honors and AP classes and have taken every math and all but 2 science classes offered at my HS (idk if that helps me...)
Mixed racial/ethnic background(again idk if that helps me or not...)</p>

<p>1930 SAT
690 M
630 V
610 W</p>

<p>29 ACT
30 E
30 M
8 W</p>

<p>Football-9th grade
JV Swimming- 10th grade
Varsity Academic Team- 11th & 12th grades
OK volunteer hours
Good Teacher Recs
Can write a descent to good essay</p>

<p>aj - I hear that Tulane is raising its admission standards, but I'd say a good essay would get you in. Best of luck to you.</p>

<p>in for sure, regardless of essay. you would have gotten in pre-katrina as well. i don't see tulane raising their admission standards much past that in the next year. depending on wether new hope knows what he/she is talking about, you could also get a large scholarship. i had similar, but nontheless lower stats, and got an 18k a year scholarship.</p>

<p>Also they sent me a "Personal Application" and are pushing that pretty hard through email, does that increase admission chances also?</p>

<p>Everyone got that Personal Application; but still, take advantage of the fee waiver and lack of essay requirement.</p>

<p>Is the "personal application" legit? It seemed to good to be true when I got it and I thought that it was a identity theft scam. :-p</p>

<p>People got into Tulane Pre-Katrina with a 3.3 unweighted? Wow that suprising to me, I always thought that it was a Top 50 school and one of the best colleges in the south and the country as a whole</p>
