SAT I: M750 R760 W650 Total2160 (composite); retaking it in Jan, since I completely bungled the writing section, I should get at least 100pt higher.

SAT II: USH 740; Math II 800

GPA: abysmal (well, 3.83uw for Gr 11, and the average from Gr9-11 is ~3.5). The strange thing is, I get great marks for hard courses, while I scrapped by in those pesky electives.

AP: (self-studied) USH 5, Calculus AB 4, Macroeconomics 4, Microeconomics 4; taking AP Chem this year

EC: president/leader of a bunch of clubs; personally hosted (thru my debate club) a debate in the local elections; 320+ hr volunteer work. loads of leadership experience

University Courses: taking a few university/college courses this year:

1st year Philosophy (university)
2nd year International Political Economy (community college)
2nd year Globalization/Economics (university)

Recommendations: all great, incl one from uni professor

Don't fret too much about your GPA... it's improving... that's all that really matters.

you sound like you've got the whole package of a CMC admit, BUT with CMC's acceptance rate being so low, what's really going to set you aside are your essays. People with stats like yours could easily be rejected as they could be accepted. Yes, you have a chance. Now, CMC is gonna want to see if you can set yourself apart from the rest. Make sure that all the activities you're involved in are things you are fervently passionate about. CMC can typically distinguish the people who pad their applications from the people who are serious about their leadership and activities. I feel like that was what may have helped me get in. My GPA was a low 3.6 UW, SAT: 2160 as well. I got a C junior year, so I was very skeptical towards my chances of getting in. I got in.. and I really think it's because I demonstrated how passionate I was about my EC's and leadership through my essays and interview. Just be strong in who you are and shine okay? That's the best you can do and if they take you, they take you!

i think you have a much better chance than almost anyone i've seen yet. the leadership certainly helps. like juggly head, i had around a 3.6 and a decent SAT score, and still got in with good ECs. best of luck!
