Yet Another E-Bill Question!

I only have about 3 days left 'til the registration fee payment deadline, so I'm starting to panic. I recently signed up for the E-bill service and am still kind of confused about it. How long does it take everything to process (process as in for the university to get it and count me as registered)? And if I can't make the payment by the deadline what is the late fee?

And if I select the deferred payment plan, it splits my total over the course of 5 months am I right? (I definitely need this since I am OOS and my total for this semester alone is about $24,000, sigh).

Thank you in advance!

I need some help in this area too... I am starting to panic...
How do u pay for the Reg Fee? How do u transfer the money from the check? What are the ways you can pay? When the Cal Grant gonna kick in? When the loans gonna kick in? How long does it take if I decide to waive the SHIP?
Please come back with responses... Thank You!!!!!

"And if I can't make the payment by the deadline what is the late fee?"

$50

"How long does it take everything to process (process as in for the university to get it and count me as registered)?"

E-bill just gives you your statment and allows you to take funds from an existing bank account. A new e-bill statment will be produced every month. You're CARS quick statment shows your account ballance updated daily.

is the SIR the same thing as the registration fees? cuz im havin trouble findin out how to psy the SIR!

SIR stands for 'statement of intent to register', it was the $100 down payment you paid when you accepted the offer of admission. The $100 is subtracted from your registration fees.

uh mine was deferred so am i suppose to pay it by mid-august or wait till a register for classes in the spring as i am a spring admit?

You must pay the minimum amount now indicated on the quick statement before August 15th. It's as simple as that.

how though? Using EFT? Can you pay offline?

Hmm...my E-Bill says I have bill of $0.00 and it is not paid...I can't pay it because I have to pay at least $1.00. Anyone know what this is about?

I hope the information here is helpful (I was just panicking myself a few days ago, but was relieved to find that everything went smoothly):

Your CARS bill can be paid either online (e-transfer the money by giving them your checking/savings account number and routing number), through check (takes 3-10 days; probably not a good idea at this point), wire it through your bank to Berkeley, or paying it in person. All this information can be found by accessing the "Back of the Bill" link in your eBill statement.

From what I understand (though this doesn't apply to me at all), if financial aid/scholarships have not yet covered your minimum payment yet, you must pay whatever is required. You can find out how much you need to pay through the deferred payment plan at the very bottom of your eBill statement (go to eBill, click the magnifying glass on the bill due August 15th, and scroll all the way down). If you paid too much (i. e. your scholarships comes in after you've paid), Berkeley will refund your money through EFT or you can pick up the refund check in person. EFT is only for refunds and is not a means for paying your CARS bill.

If you require specific information, call Billing Services at (510)642-3190. Most likely though, they will be busy, so call the Registrar's Office at (510)642-5990.

Just know that everything will be fine. :D

Thank you weicool! That helped a lot.
