Sorry, but I asked before whether a 95/100= 4.0, and I was told that I was correct.

So doesn't a 96= 4.1, 97, 4.2 and so on?
Then how is it "Impossible" to have a 4.1 unweighted average?
I understand that 4.6 (aka 101) would be impossible, but what about 96-100 averages (unweighted)?

Or are 95-100 collectively known as 4.0?

Thank you.
Katia

sorry, I meant to put this on the admissions forum, hope you don't mind. . .

To the last question: yes.

Converting from x/100 to y/4.0 gets a little hazy, the best way to convert is to look at your transcript and see how many B's you have (i.e. you might have a 95 average, but in one class you got an 89) and then you can calculate your gpa out of 4.0

For every A on your transcript you have a 4.0, for every B a 3.0, C 2.0, D 1.0, and F 0.0. Then you average all of your 4's, 3's, 2's, and 1's. If last semester you got 4 A's, 2 B's, and a C, your GPA for the semester is about 3.429. That's the way my school did it anyway.

Some schools give 4.33 for an A+, 3.67 for an A-, 3.33 for a B+, 2.67 for a B-, and so on.
