Yet ANOTHER 'Just had my interview thread'

Ok seriously people SO easy. The first thing he said to me when I walked in was...ok please relax because I can ONLY help you. He didn't drill me on current events, in fact they didn't even come up...he was quite nice and really just wanted to hear what I had to say! Therefore, everyone who is nervous should just relax because it was very easy and actually enjoyable. Good Luck People!

YAY!!!!!! Thats awesome

; ) ******

I haven't still got contacted by my interviewer... :(

Do all applicants get interviews? Even those applying RD? Or do they someow weed out the students that probably won't get admitted based on SATs, GPA, etc, and not set up interviews for them?

I have the same question as sunshadow. I'm not actually going to have to do 7 interviews this spring, am I?

I am just wondering specifically about Princeton. I know that most schools do not offer interviews at all.

Hmmm...I seem to remember that something like 90 or 91% of applicants got interviewed last year. I'm pretty sure that they try to get an interview for every applicant, and those 9 or 10% either didn't have alumni interviewers in the area or refused an interview.

that's interesting. I wonder if that means that a few people who clearly did not have the stats may have gotten in because they really impressed the interviewer? WHy else would they have the interviewers waste their time?

The interview mainly serves as an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have about Princeton of a person who knows Princeton well and has volunteered to talk with you (read: they don't think they're wasting their time). Princeton Review lists the interview as "not considered" under admission factors for Pton. So, I think it's safe to say that the interview has virtually no effect on the admissions decision, and someone without the stats would never get again just because they impressed the interviewer.

yep, my interviewer said it was worth less than 1% if ANYTHING. and yeah, it's generally to provide information to the applicants, especially those who cannot visit.

or, the interviews can be used to get rid of ppl who CLEARLY know NOTHING about P'ton and are applying for the name. also to make sure that ppl actually want to go to P'ton, and not end all up going to Harvard or something (but that wouldn't apply for ED)
