I would rate your chances as excellent IF you write a good essay and don't screw up the application.

Wondering about merit aid as well...

Anybody on CC attending on some kind of scholarship?

Avg. incoming GPA for Newhouse admits is 3.8; SATs, 1250. Your kid is right on target for that...

is a junior in Newhouse and was accepted directly into the program as a freshman. She was also given a Founder's Scholarship which amounts to $12,000/year. Her ACT was 31; she was ranked 10 out of 480 and news editor of the school paper, as well as NHS and a couple of other ECs. I can't remember what her GPA was, but she had many honors/AP classes in HS, and I think had two or three B's in high school.

Hope this helps.

I'm a freshman, didn't apply for scholarship. got 8k a year and honors program. 3.6+ from a good prep school, 2090 SAT. hook: community columnist at the local paper (a lot of kids here have journalism experience, but it's by no means expected). Iranian/American Jewish girl- so not a URM.

Goingtobebroke- your DD has a wonderful chance. Good luck
