Yet another question on GPA calculation

My sister goes to a UC and she says the college reports only a "UC GPA" that includes only the classes that you take at a UC. All the AP and JC classes that you took are well and good counting units for the degree, but it doesn't figure in the GPA calculation.

Do the other top 25 colleges do pretty much the same thing i.e. ignore extraneous classes in the GPA calculation?

Finally, if that's the case, will Grad schools bother to recalculate GPA? Are you better off padding your college schedule with easy classes to build a better college GPA?

Colleges may take credit for AP classes but you get no grade for them. Grad schools will scrutinize your undergrad class choice for rigor just like colleges do.
