Great teacher and conselor recs, and a pretty darn good essay if I say so myself

Yeah I know the scores aren't great but my parents are convinced class rank/gpa/extra currics and being in IB will balence out the scores, I on the other hand have a feeling I should wait fot RD. Please someone post something that convinces either me or my parents to go one way or the other

it depends on if you're in state or out of state, because they can' take more than 18% if their freshman class from out of state

Well i'm from FL so... what do you think now

Why would you wait for RD? The only advantage would be a little more time to polish essays if they're not already done. I assume you don't plan to take the SAT again, and they should have plenty of time to get the scores before they send out decisions in late January.

The most important thing to them is your transcript, so if you've taken lots of hard classes and done well (which it appears that you have), then there's no reason you shouldn't have a decent shot. But..yeah, if they can't have moe than 18% from out of state, there's always the chance that even the decent candidates won't get in. It's lame, I know.

You understand that the early admission at Chapel Hill is not binding, right? There is no reason NOT to apply early other than procrastination. So get to it.
