Yet another thread about kissing

So, I'm a kiss virgin, but that is not what this thread is about.

Are kisses even remotely enjoyable? I mean it's two people putting their lips together and sucking. Sometimes they put their tongues in each others mouth. Why do people get so excited about it? Is it a lot better than it sounds? Or is it overrated?

Not the greatest of threads I know, but I'm really curious about this

This is a new low, even for HSL. Ugh…

Once your hormones start going out of control, you’ll understand.

^^Yeah, I have a pretty long internal debate about weather to post this or not, but I figured that at least it probably won’t result in people insulting each other.

^No, you misunderstand. I do understand. I just don’t understand why, you know?

idk. it’s instinct.

^Why would it be instinct? Does kissing provide a survival advantage or something?

^ no but relationships are

Only on college confidential…

It signifies a bond. If you are attracted to someone and they are attracted to you, a kiss sort of finalizes the attraction/mutual emotion I guess.

A man tastes the chemical makeup of a woman’s saliva for compatibility. Read it in a BBC article once. Makes me somewhat reconsider my aversion to promiscuity.

Kisses are not instinctual. They are learned way of displaying attraction.

Anyway, it’s okay. No big.

It’s oral sex.

HarveyL- You are focusing on the mechanics, it’s all about the nuances.

^^ Lol fail. It is NOT oral sex.

Well, it’s not surreally awesome and will not throw you into a fit of sensual ecstasy. I know the concept may seem weird. But yes, it is more than “remotely enjoyable.”

Actually, I once heard that kissing helps protect against sickness or something like that. I’m not sure. But it wouldn’t be so enjoyable if it wasn’t instinct as well as a learned behavior.

Only on college confidential is right Whan, so so right.
face palm

Yet I have wondered this before also…

Actually I’ve read that too. Your body basically uses kissing as a mechanism to taste the other person’s saliva. In the saliva it checks to see if that person is immune to certain diseases that your body is not immune too. (due to globalization and there being different kinds of people everywhere this is always the case, this is just to prevent in-breeding among families in the cave man days). If it finds that your partner has a different immune system to yours then your brain releases a chemical (im guessing dopamine) that makes you happy when you’re kissing that person in an effort to make you “like” that person so you’ll have babies who will be more physically fit in evolutionary terms due to having a better more dynamic immune system.

It sounds kind of corny but it only really feels good with someone you love, it gives a little rush. otherwise it’s just mouths pressed together XD

A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become unneccesary
