I'm aware I'll never get in to an Ivy League, but that's sort of not what I want. I'd rather stay in-state at a decent public university rather than go up-state to a super expensive uni. If there are any other universities or colleges I seem okay to apply to, please tell me. FSU is just my first choice.

If it’s also worth mentioning, I’m an African-American from a single parent home.

I am no expert but if I had to bet my life on it I would say that you have a great chance of getting in. Your GPA is low but you have a good SAT score, by FSU standards, and your extracurricular’s seem awesome. If I was you, I would focus on raising my GPA more than getting a higher SAT score because you already have a good enough score for FSU! If you have the will to raise your GPA significantly and boost your SAT and take the ACT then go ahead but it might end up hurting ya.
experience: sophomore at FSU with many other friends who got admitted. My high school GPA: 3.4 unweighted and 4.2 weighted 1690 on SAT’s with no ACT score. Did lots of clubs and wrote a sick essay.
YOU WILL DO FINE

My very biggest goal is to raise my GPA. You’ve just made it a higher. Thank you for the advice!

Being aa helps a lot. I’d say your in.

You’ve already identified your biggest weakness in your GPA. Unfortunately, at this point you probably aren’t going to raise your GPA any further for your application, since you likely aren’t going to have semester grades or anything that get added.

I’d say you’re probably close, just because your GPA is a bit low.

Did you end up getting in?
