Yet another... what are my chances

I have always loved Duke, and I want to apply ED but I really doubt that I will be accpeted, so I was considering applying ED to Tufts instead.

GPA=? (I go to what is commonly known as one of the top 3 boarding schools in NE, and we don't do class rank or GPA)
AP Chem: 4
AP English Lit: 4
Sat: M 720/R 750/W 780 (2250)
Sat II: IIC: 710 Chem: 740
We don't have designated AP classes, we have honors or advanced, but they aren't designed for the AP curriculum
Soph:
Year long:
Geometry, Chemistry, Spanish 2, = A
Humanities 4 = B
1 Term each:
Astro, 2 Art classes = A
Junior year:
Adv. chemistry, Precalc Honors, Adv. Span 3 =B
Humanities 5, Biology = A
Senior Year:
Adv. Physics, Adv. Span 4, AB Calc, Adv. Bio
and a bunch of english electives

EC:
Volunteer at local Hospital 100+
Math and Science Tutor (3 years)
Proctor (like an RA in college, I look after the kids in my dorm)
2 medical volunteer missions to central america
1-2 Varsity Sports (depends on what i do this year)

Then I'm a member of a bunch of other small groups but I won't mention those because I don't do too much with them.

I've heard AP's aren't counted, but Duke leaves 8 spaces to list your scores in your application. I was hoping they would help me, somewhat.

I feel that my grades and ECs will hurt me, but its pretty hard to get an A here. I'm goint to retake the IIC this fall and the Spanish w/ listening.

Thanks

You can talk up the tutoring and proctoring to demonstrate you're a leader and the missions in Central America (which sound cool) are good cause you're applying your studies (Spanish, Science) to the real world. I'd milk the latter especially and tie it to your future goals/reasons you want to be at Duke.

Plus, tough courseload, top school --

I'd go for it. (Duke ED, Tufts RD)

Go for Duke ED if thats what you really want - your stats are fine for Duke, dont worry about that and your EC's are good as well. Write some really compelling essays and supplement that with some good recs and I'd say you have a great shot. Good luck :)!
