Yet another "which SATII should i take?" thread.

ok. so here's my case. i've taken chinese for 2 years, got a 5 on the AP, and now i'm going to take the chinese SATII. I am also planning on taking the math SATII. However, i am wondering what my 3rd SATII should be. I'm leaning toward Chem, because i'm taking chem AP this year, but i don't know if picking another one such as english lit would show more diversity or some other crap that colleges like. thanks for your input :)

Chemistry would be fine. But its really whatever you are most confident with.

between chemistry and English, which do you think is easier? as in, after a one year course on the subject, which test is the easiest to get a high score on with the least amount of study?

Both of them are considered moderately difficult. Chem is more impressive than eng lit, though, because eng lit is just SAT CR on steroids.

^ uhhhhh wrong.

chem can be studied for. Lit is natural ability. If anything, lit would be "more impressive" though I honestly don't think that admissions officers care which ones you take.

thnx for the info guys :)

Agree with eating food. Lit covers EXTREMELY different topics. You have to know the fundamentals of prose and poetry and takes analyzing to much more depth. Many students who score well on Critical Reading have low Lit scores.

I disagree, Literature, as well can be studied, and it does not need to be an innate ability. However Chemistry is generally easier for most people, but it depends more on your major. If you're interested in a major in health or the sciences, Chemistry would be a great addition, but if you're into journalism, taking the SAT II in Literature shows your passion/skill in reading. If you're interested in taking Literature, one of the most beneficial method of studying is just to read established "classics" and ask yourself what each paragraph means. Hope that helps, good luck

I second on everything hollow has said. If you're leaning towards a qualitative major, chemistry; quantitative, literature. An 800 on lit tends to be very impressive from what I've heard.

I'm not sure what i'm going to major in yet... i don't think i'm going to go into anything in liberal arts though, so i think i should probably just stick with chemistry.
