yipee i am visiting FSU next week

I am soooo psyched because my mom and i are visiting FSU and tallahassee next weekend. I cant wait to see the campus. We signed up for 2 tours (i think) one walking and one in a bus.
I hope I get to see a dorm room or two and and the business school. Has anyone been on these tours? Are these stops included?

Everybody will be moving in this weekend and the next week is one event after another with NO CLASSES until Monday 8/27. They call this Seminole Sensation Week http://ssweek.fsu.edu/. You will be seeing all of the fun with none of the work. My husband and son did the bus tour the December of his senior year. The campus is easy to walk around to get a closer look at things you want to see in more detail but it will be HOT in August!

We did the van tour and then walked around the campus afterward. I would not suggest that you do BOTH the van and the walking tour. We were there in early June and it was really hot and muggy. Check out the college visits page on CC for more info too:

We did the bus tour one afternoon and the walking tour early the next morning. It will be hot. Take the staff up on their offer of water if you take the walking tour. We visited in June, but we are used to south Florida heat. Have fun.

oh wow. this is so helpful. i appreciate the responses. ok so it sounds like the walking tour and van tour are duplicates. i really want to see everythng. i dont mind if it is hot or walking if the walking tour is better ? is there anyone who thinks it is better? or id the van tour just as good in half the time. OH yeah . DOes either tour allow you to see a dorm room? That sesation week sure sounds social! if get in and i attend summer session will they have a welcome week or some kinf then too?

We saw more on the walking tour, as the van can't get to the places you can on foot. After both tours, they explain to you how you can visit dorms. There is a process by which you ring the dorm bell, and someone meets you and shows you a room. They will explain the process to you. The van tour is a nice overview, but you never leave the van. You see more and up close on foot, but get a better sense of the layout of the campus on the van.

Here is the link to the summer activities at FSU:

One thing they didn't have in the summer is the Night Nole bus. This is a free bus that takes students home late at night 10pm to 3am Tu-Sa from the clubs back to campus. It will start again in the Fall and Spring. Most of the night spots are within walking distance to campus but the bus is a nice safety feature.
