<p>SAT: havent taken yet. but I love standarized tests and do really well on them.
ACT: 30 :( taking again..i was sick that day
GPA: 3.7
School: private school with no ap courses and only 4 honor courses
Courses: one honors course..hard classes senior year..homeschooling some of them like two spanish classes. and a couple of science classes.</p>
<p>State: SC
Race: white but have a little bit of indian in me..so maybe a mix?
rank: top 25%
prospective major: economics.or accounting or poly sci.</p>

duke is first choice!!!
I have been acting alot been in a couple of plays at school, local theatre, and church. also am going to be in an independent movie coming out soon.
hopefully really good essays, maybe my feelings for duke will come through the essays.
publishing book next year. a kids story and after that an inlaw book. haha maybe a hook?
i could try to get recruited for athletics but i would have to go to a different highschool that my current one for various reasons.

<p>well, bad to me is probably good for some people and okay for most people. i go to a private christian school so my counselor wants everybody to go to a christian college and she never has to write recommendations basically because most of the christian colleges my classmates go to dont ask for them. She’ll say some good things but not be overly eager. I’ll probably get real chummy with her this year cause for some reason she loves talking to me(or in general to anyone) but the feeling is not reciprocated…</p>
<p>-I would focus more on my publishing and acting work than on a few scattered volunteer things that could come by as fake; they are looking for committment and passion (think quality not quantity)
I would do volunteer stuff related to my acting and writing. I suggest looking into Books of Hope its a great program and maybe you could get it started at your school
-ACT is okay, not great but not terrible. I would aim for 32-34ish
-try and do some self study and make sure your guidance counselor mentions the lack of upper level classes
-SUCK UP TO YOUR COUNSELOR lol. But in all seriousness, buy them a Starbucks giftcard or something

<p>Thanks! that was really good advice! is Duk ya’lls first choice, too? I’m part native american… yeah its a major URM at Duke and most schools. I think I’m going to take off some of the volunteer stuff and maybe stick with tutoring at a childrens home and helping in the soup kitchen. Well, I love acting but I dont want to major in it…so I dont want to be all passionate about it and then tell them oh, i’m not going to major in it though…I do have a part time job teaching kids how to act…I’m also going to look into the books of hope.</p>
<p>heyyy. sorry for thre delay in chancing you; i said i would:) hmmm. well i think you’re ec’s are pretty nice and you have a decent shot. i think duke’s a low reach for you or a high match. if you improve your scores then i think you’re almost definitely in with killer essays.</p>
